Amazon VCS is not generating invoices
Amazon VCS – Amazon’s invoicing service for sellers – has not been issuing invoices for some countries recently. We contacted Amazon about this problem a few weeks ago and received the following two responses:

We have fixed the technical problem and invoices will be issued again in the future. Unfortunately, we are not able to create invoices for existing orders.

Our internal team has thoroughly investigated into the matter and as per their research, there seem to have been a technical glitch which caused the missing invoice. We sincerely apologize for the inconvenience caused to you and we highly appreciate you for your continued patience and understanding of our process and policies .
But please note that , unfortunately we are unable to generate additional invoices.
Amazon sellers have to comply with all applicable legal requirements, the Amazon Services Europe Business Solutions agreement and the associated policies. Consult your tax advisor to verify the situations in which you are legally required to issue a VAT invoice.
Both responses indicate that there was a technical error that affected the creation of invoices. However, the missing old invoices are not created by Amazon, but rather have to be created by the respective Amazon seller themselves.
This is likely to be very annoying for many sellers.
