Plesk with Juggernaut – Error: Unable to access storage

If you get the error “Error: unable to access storage: transport error: unable to list directory: curl error: (30)” when trying to connect to your remote backup storage in Plesk, it is probably due to your Juggernaut firewall solution.

The full error may also read:

Error: unable to access storage: Transport error: unable to list directory: Curl error: (30) FTP: command PORT failed: Last FTP request: PORT 46,4,95,215,132,187 Last FTP response: 501 Data connection already active Make sure you have entered the correct memory settings.

Since this is an SPI firewall that controls incoming and outgoing traffic, the passive FTP ports must be allowed outgoing. To do this, navigate to the “Allow” tab, click on DynDNS and add the following entry:

tcp|out|d=30000_65535|d=ftp.example.com

Of course ftp.example.com has to be replaced with your target host.

After that you can update the rules and the connection to the FTP server should work now.
